The team that founded Crown spent years working inside and alongside SEO agencies of every size. What they saw, consistently, was a structural dishonesty baked into the industry model: agencies measuring selectively, reporting on metrics that looked impressive but changed nothing for the client’s revenue, rotating account managers who reset context every six months, and subcontracted work nobody could trace back to any accountable person.
The industry had not made a mistake. It had made a business decision. Long retainers, templated delivery, and volume over quality are a profitable model for agencies. They are not a good deal for clients. The divergence between what agencies optimise for and what clients actually need was the gap we decided to close.
Crown was founded on a single counter-bet: that a small, expert team, genuinely accountable to revenue rather than rankings, could outperform a large generalist agency on every account. That bespoke search engine optimisation strategy, properly sequenced and honestly reported, would compound into results that no cookie-cutter package could replicate.
